Growing MomentI feel that I have grown a great deal from working at this internship. I had never been away from home for a long time before this experience. Going from one coast to the other taught me many lessons on how to live and function on my own. I was responsible for everything, from food, transportation, work, housing, etc. I am definitely glad that I learned how to efficiently manage these tasks before I came back home.
This 7-week internship was very intense and was packed with many deadlines. The main difference that I saw between school and the real world, is that there are not many checkpoints between deadlines. For example, our supervisor would tell us what was due at a specific time and we had to break the task down into smaller pieces. In school we have homework, in the real world there is none. In order to get the tasks done before the deadline, I had to learn to give myself homework to fully complete some tasks. I am now very self-aware of my abilities and what I personally need to do in order to accomplish my job. |

Week of August 2, 2019
We are nearing the end of the program and we are all a little on edge. Our group is stressing about how we are going to present our app to the executives. We have been hearing about all of the other apps and they all sound really cool. Ours is cool too but it is very simple as we had planned it to be. There has been a little tension in the group this week but we solved it. There was an idea that one person wanted to keep about the app and the rest of us did not want it anymore and there was a very long disagreement. We solved the issue and now our app is even better. I am excited to show off our app idea.

This week was one of the most stressful weeks of my life. There was so much that our team had to complete, from polishing up our app, to coming up with our presentation and practicing it. It was during this time where I learned how to prioritize my goals correctly. I made a list of what I needed to complete in a specific order based on how important that task was to the team. There were many sleepless nights this week trying to make sure that our presentation was perfect before we would present in front of our supervisors. While some of my teammates would get most of their work done while at Microsoft, I would take my work home and get ahead of the tasks for the next day as to not fall behind in any capacity. This was a very important skill that I learned and it carried over to my school work and helped me to get ahead of my assignments.
